Three-Point Challenge
benefitting GO2 for Lung Cancer

  December 8-9, 2024

Join this 36-hour, three-point challenge, hosted by Sophie and Emma Zirkin in memory of their amazing grandmother, Barbara Zirkin, to raise awareness and funds for lung cancer research and advocacy.

Sophie is pledging to shoot 1,000 three-point shots to start this year's event, and another 1,000 three-point shots at the end of the 36-hour challenge. 

You are invited to join in and challenge her! 

Let’s see who is the top three-point shooter in this year’s Barbara Zirkin Memorial Three-point Challenge--and who can raise the most for lung cancer research and advocacy.

When - Sunday, December 8 at 9:00 AM ET until Monday, December 9 at 9:00 PM ET

Why - Sophie and Emma are high school basketball players in Baltimore, and lost their grandmother to lung cancer. Sophie holds the Maryland high school single-season record for three-pointers and wanted to combine her passion for basketball with this important cause.

Five years ago, Sophie went live on Facebook to shoot 1,000 three-point shots in her backyard--and in the rain! She raised thousands of dollars for GO2 for Lung Cancer. She and her sister are now taking this idea national! 

We are inviting players of all ages and all levels to join in this national fundraiser, and to invite friends and family to participate, and raise money for this important cause.

How to Participate 

1. Sign-up to Participate (for FREE)

2. Start Fundraising - You will receive access to your fundraising page once you register.

3. Make your plan to livestream or record your shots during the event - You can record yourself shooting and/or livestream your shots using Facebook Live, YouTube, Instagram Live or whichever platform you prefer. Let us know when and where and we will add you to the event livestream schedule. 

4. Share with your networks - Make sure your friends and networks know when to watch you and share your fundraising link so they can contribute to this amazing cause; it’s that easy! Shoot baskets, raise money for lung cancer research and advocacy, and have some fun! (And see if you can compete with Maryland’s all-time high school three-point shooter!)

About GO2 for Lung Cancer - All funds raised will help GO2 for Lung Cancer provide one-on-one assistance, screening, and treatment navigation to those impacted by lung cancer, as well as fund the latest research to accelerate cures and change this disease from one of stigma to one of hope.
