Remembering Jill Costello

 JillCostello.jpg

"I am so lucky that my life is filled with people who constantly remind me that the world is filled with more good than bad, more hope than doubt, and more love than pain." - Jill Costello,

Jog for Jill is an annual event held in memory of Jill Costello, a beloved former Cal Kappa and coxswain on the Cal Women’s Crew Team who lost her battle to stage IV lung cancer in June 2010.

Lung cancer is the #1 cancer killer, bigger than breast, prostate, colon, liver, melanoma and kidney cancers combined. It is not just a smoker’s disease, anyone can get lung cancer, even a 22-year-old college athlete – just like Jill.

After her diagnosis, Jill had 3 goals: graduate from UC Berkeley, lead Cal’s Women’s Rowing team to win PAC-10 and NCAA championships and beat lung cancer. She accomplished the first two... so now help us preserve Jill's legacy and fulfill her dearest wish to “beat lung cancer – BIG TIME!"
