My Perfect Marathon is an opportunity to “run” my perfect race wherever and whenever I choose, while honoring those impacted by lung cancer. I was 42 years old when I was diagnosed with stage IV NSCLC. I’m a mother of two wonderful boys and happily married to the best husband I could have ever asked for.

I’m asking for your support because cancer doesn’t just impact the patient it impacts their immediate family and friends. Lung cancer doesn’t just happen to people who smoke, anyone with lungs can be diagnosed with lung cancer. 

The scariest part of lung cancer is that for lots of people the cancer goes undetected for a long time before they are diagnosed. There are no diagnostic tests that can detect lung cancer unless you exhibit symptoms. I didn’t know I had lung cancer and went to the hospital because I had chest pain.  Unfortunately the chest pain was due to fluid that had been building over time.
