Honor a Loved One Benefitting GO2 for Lung Cancer

Joe Speaker

"Fare you well, fare you well. I love you more than words can tell. Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul."

Joseph Stanley Speaker passed away on April 22nd, 2023, at the age of 64, exactly one year after his cancer diagnosis. Joe was born on November 13th, 1958, in Williamsport Pennsylvania to Fred and JoAnn Speaker. He grew up in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania along with his five brothers, Mark, Paul, Peter, Andrew and Thomas. Joe graduated from Trinity High School in 1977 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from LaSalle University in 1981. Joe received his CPA in 1983 and was a senior financial officer for several Central PA companies. He happily retired in 2018 as CFO for a local manufacturing company. In 1983, Joe married the love of his life, Patty. After she had bought him a Heineken at a local bar, the two were inseparable. They spent their earlier years proudly raising their daughter, Pam and son, John. After he retired, Joe and Patty wasted no time living out their dreams of traveling across the country together, hiking, and sight seeing. When Joe wasn't on a golf course, he would spend his time wood working, running, hiking, playing with his grandchildren, and cheering for The Birds. Above all, his family was his greatest love. We will all deeply miss the light and laughter he brought to everyone he ever met and his ability to make hilarious sound effects with everything he did. Joe is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patty, his daughter Pamela Black (Bryan), his son John Speaker (Blaire), his loving mother JoAnn Speaker, his granddaughter Lilah Black and his grandsons Iverson Black and Nico Speaker, and his five brothers.
