Carlos Cares was started to honor the memory of Carlos J. Perez-Albuerne who died at age 50, 2 1/2 years after being diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer.

This year, as we mark the fifth anniversary of his passing, we are once again raising funds for GO2 for Lung Cancer, in particular its Educating Patients about Early-Stage Comprehensive Biomarker Testing program. This program focuses on providing information on the critical importance of comprehensive biomarker testing for people with early-stage lung cancer. As an emerging development, biomarker-directed therapy can play a critical role in increasing survival rates for this devastating diagnosis.
